In Canada each province sets its own time rules. Ontario follows the US dates: clocks go forward at 2:00 AM on the second Sunday in March and back at 2:00 AM on the first Sunday in November. The National Research Council Canada keeps the country's official time.
Ontario passed a law in 2020 to move to permanent daylight time, but only if Quebec and New York do the same, so for now Toronto keeps changing.
Toronto's offset matches Ottawa and Montreal all year.

Hours to add to the time in Toronto; a minus sign means the other city is behind
Toronto shares its hour with New York, Montreal and Washington, D.C. all year. The West Coast is three hours behind, except that from November to March Vancouver is only two hours behind, because British Columbia now stays on UTC−7.
For calls with Europe, Paris is six hours ahead most of the year; the EST to GMT converter shows the fixed-UTC view.
Toronto's markets keep the same hours as New York: the Toronto Stock Exchange trades from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time. For Europe, that leaves a short overlap with the London afternoon.
Ontario's own geography adds a wrinkle. Communities west of about 90° west, such as Kenora, use Central Time, one hour behind Toronto. Thunder Bay, the largest city in the north-west, stays on Eastern Time like the capital.
