Brasília Time
Brazil used summer time in its southern and south-eastern states for decades, usually from October or November to February. In April 2019 a federal decree ended it, citing studies that showed little energy saving. The IANA time zone database records the last change on February 17, 2019.
Brazil's official time is kept by the Observatório Nacional in Rio de Janeiro, which distributes it to networks and broadcasters.
In São Paulo itself, without summer time, sunsets come early in December, around 7:00 PM, compared with close to 8:00 PM in the years when the clocks still went forward.

Without summer time, São Paulo's gaps to the northern hemisphere grow in their summer: London is three hours ahead in January and four in July, New York two hours behind in winter and one in summer. Buenos Aires and Montevideo share São Paulo's clock all year.
For calls with the US East Coast, the BRT to EST converter shows every hour; the Buenos Aires clock shows Argentina, which also keeps UTC−3.
For São Paulo's financial district this matters every March and November, when the gap to New York changes by an hour because the US changes and Brazil does not. The B3 stock exchange trading hours in São Paulo are adjusted around those dates to keep its overlap with US markets.
