UltConvert

Disclaimer

UltConvert explains file rules set by other organisations and gives you tools to meet them. This page sets out what that information is, what it is not, and why the official source always has the final word.

Operated by UltConvert Media

Our pages summarize official rules

Many tool pages and blog posts describe a requirement someone else sets: the pixel size and background of a passport or visa photo, the largest file an application portal accepts, the dimensions a social network recommends, the attachment cap of an email service. We take each figure from the publishing organisation, link that source next to it and note the date we last checked it.

A summary is a reading aid, not a copy of the rule. To keep pages readable we leave out exceptions, regional variants and details that only apply in special cases, and the official wording may be more precise than ours.

Always confirm with the official source

Agencies, institutions and platforms change their requirements, sometimes without announcing it, and the page you are submitting to may differ from the general guidance we quote. Before you rely on a size, format or limit from UltConvert, open the linked official page, or the instructions of the portal you are using, and make sure it still says the same. Where our page and the official source disagree, follow the official source, and please tell us so we can correct it.

Meeting a figure we state is not a guarantee of acceptance. A photo of the right size can still be refused for its lighting, expression or age, and a document under a file-size limit can still be rejected for its content or format.

No affiliation

UltConvert and UltConvert Media are not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by or sponsored by any of the organisations whose rules or products appear on the site, including government departments such as the U.S. Department of State, passport and immigration offices, exam and recruitment bodies, universities, and companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, Meta or Instagram. Their names, and the names of file formats and software, are used only to identify them. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.

We cannot submit applications, book appointments or speak for any of these organisations. For questions about a decision on your application, contact the organisation that made it.

Not professional advice

Nothing on UltConvert is legal, immigration, tax, financial, medical or other professional advice. Articles about topics such as archival PDF standards, document signatures, copyright or privacy give general background that may not fit your situation. If a lot depends on the outcome, ask the organisation concerned or a qualified professional.

Results from the tools

Converters, compressors and editors work on the file you give them, and the result depends on it. Lossy compression discards detail, a format change can drop layers, metadata or effects the target format does not support, and text recognition can misread a blurred scan. Look at every output before you use it, and keep the original.

Calculators and converters that run in your browser round their results and rely on your device: time zone and daylight saving information comes from the time zone database built into your browser, and countdowns and clocks use your device's clock. Governments can change time zone rules at short notice.

Accuracy and corrections

We work to keep every page accurate and up to date, but we cannot promise that all information is complete, current or free of errors at all times. If you find a mistake, email [email protected] with the page address and, ideally, a link to the official source. Corrections are made on the page and its checked date is updated.

Links and advertising

Links to official sources and other websites are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Ads on the site are served by Google AdSense; an ad is not a recommendation by UltConvert.

Your use of the site is also governed by the Terms of Service, which include the full warranty disclaimer and limitation of liability, and by the Privacy Policy page.
