Each Singapore hour with the Pacific time in both US seasons. Most rows carry −1: the previous day in California.

Adding instead of subtracting

Subtracting 16 hours is awkward, so many people add 8 hours and move back one day. 10:00 AM Tuesday in Singapore plus 8 hours is 6:00 PM, so it is 6:00 PM Monday in Los Angeles during PST. During PDT, add 9 hours instead.

Only from 4:00 PM in Singapore (3:00 PM during PDT) onward do the two places share a calendar date.

Daylight saving on the US side

Singapore has no daylight saving, and the IANA time zone database shows no planned changes. Pacific Time switches at 2:00 AM local time on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November, under rules overseen by the US Department of Transportation.

Meeting across the Pacific

Tech teams split between Singapore and the Bay Area usually meet in the Singapore morning, which is the Californian late afternoon of the day before. 8:00 AM in Singapore is 5:00 PM PDT or 4:00 PM PST. The other option, a Singapore late evening, is the early morning in California.

The Seattle, Vancouver and Kuala Lumpur clocks show live times. For the East Coast, see SGT to EST; for Tokyo, JST to PST.

Do

  • Hold regular calls at 8:00–9:00 AM in Singapore.
  • State the weekday on both sides, especially around weekends.

Avoid

  • Expecting a same-day reply to a California afternoon request sent on Friday.
  • Leaving a fixed Singapore slot unchanged after California's March change; it moves an hour later in California.
