White space around each image: small is 5 mm, medium 10 mm, large 20 mm. Ignored when page size is the same as the image.
Fit shows the whole image with white space if the shapes differ; fill covers the page and crops the edges; actual size places it at its print size from DPI.
Put 2 or 4 images on each page in a grid, for ID cards front and back or contact sheets.
Custom page width in millimetres (A4 is 210 mm).
Custom page height in millimetres (A4 is 297 mm).
One PDF with a page per image, or a separate PDF for every image downloaded as a ZIP.
The order you added the files (drag to rearrange), alphabetical by file name, or by the date the photo was taken.
JPEG quality of photos inside the PDF. 85 keeps them sharp; with a target size this is the starting point.

Does converting PNG to PDF lose quality?
No. The PNG pixels go into the PDF as they are, so screenshots and diagrams keep every sharp edge; only a size target or a lower quality setting would recompress them.

Why PNG files end up in PDFs
PNG is the format of screens. Screenshots on Windows and macOS, exported charts, app mockups, diagrams and scans saved by many scanner apps all arrive as PNG, because it keeps text and hard edges exact. That makes it a poor fit for one job in particular: handing over a set of pages. Ten screenshots are ten attachments, they open in random order, and nobody can print them as one document.
A PDF solves that. The pages stay in the order you set, the file opens the same way in every browser and on every phone, and it can be printed, signed or uploaded to a portal that asks for a single document. Bug reports, how-to guides, receipts from apps and slide exports are the usual cases.
Your computer can do a single image on its own: Preview on a Mac exports a PNG as PDF, and Windows can print one to the built-in Microsoft Print to PDF printer. Both get awkward with many files, though, because they need a manual step per image or produce pages in an order you have to fix afterwards. Here you add the whole set at once, sort it, and get one file back.
PNG
PNG image
An open raster format the PNG Development Group published in 1996 as a patent-free replacement for GIF. Compression is lossless and a full alpha channel keeps soft edges and cutouts clean. It suits screenshots, logos and interface graphics; photos come out much larger than as JPG.

PDF document
Adobe's Portable Document Format from 1993, now an open ISO standard. It fixes text, images and layout so a page looks the same on every screen and printer, and it can carry forms, links and transparency. Every operating system and browser can open it, though editing the content is harder than in a word processor.

Why convertGoing this way, you keep PNG's lossless pixels and wrap them in pages: the images stay exactly as sharp, and the set gains a fixed order, a page size and a single file that portals and printers accept. To pull a page back out as an image, use PDF to PNG.
Because PNG is lossless, the converter does not have to recompress anything at the default settings. Each image is placed on its page at its original pixel size, which is why the PDF is roughly as large as the PNGs together. That is the right default for screenshots, where a JPEG-style compression would leave halos around letters.
Two formats with long standards behind them
How PNG became a standard
PNG was published as a W3C Recommendation in 1996 and later as ISO/IEC 15948; a third edition in 2025 added HDR and animation features. PDF has its own ISO standard, ISO 32000, so both sides of this conversion are open formats that any software can read. Neither depends on a single company's app, which is one reason archives and offices are comfortable with both.
Page size and layout
With Same as image, every page takes the exact proportions of its PNG. That suits screen captures, which come in every shape, from tall phone screenshots to wide monitor captures. Readers scroll through such a PDF on screen just like the original images.
Choose A4 or Letter when the PDF will be printed or submitted somewhere that expects standard sheets. The image is then fitted inside the page with Image on page set to Fit; switch to Fill page to crop it to the edges, or add a Margin so nothing touches the paper's border. Orientation on Auto turns each page to match its image.
Keeping the PDF small enough to send
Large PNG captures from high-resolution screens can make a heavy PDF. If an email or a portal sets a limit, switch PDF file size to Target size and enter the limit in KB or MB; the images inside are recompressed, and reduced in pixels if needed, until the whole file fits. Expect a small loss of sharpness around text at tight targets.
For more layout options and every other image type, the main Image to PDF tool takes the same batches. Uploaded PNGs are deleted after the PDF is made, and the PDF itself 30 minutes later. If a document is already a PDF and only needs to be smaller, Compress PDF is the faster route.

PNG to PDF questions
Will small text in a PNG screenshot stay readable in the PDF?
Yes. PNG stores pixels without loss, and the PDF keeps them at the same pixel size, so text stays exactly as sharp as in the screenshot. Zooming in shows the original pixels, nothing more and nothing less.
Why is my PDF bigger than the PNG files together?
It should be close to their combined size, plus a little for the PDF structure. If Image quality is lowered or PDF file size is set to a target, the images are recompressed and the PDF can become smaller than the PNGs.
Can I make the text in the PDF selectable?
Not with this tool alone. A PNG holds a picture of text, so the PDF does too. Run the PNG through Image to Text to extract the words, or keep the original document if the screenshot came from one.
What happens to the transparent background of a PNG logo?
PDF can hold transparency, so see-through areas stay see-through and show the white of the page in most viewers. If you need a colored background, add it to the PNG in an editor before converting.
Can I put four PNG screenshots on one page?
Yes. Set Images per page to 4 and the page size to A4 or Letter. The screenshots are arranged in a grid on each sheet, which is handy for a one-page summary of app screens.
How do I keep numbered PNG files in the right order?
Set Page order to File name. Files named page-01, page-02 and so on then follow their numbers, even if you added them in a different order.
