UPI QR Code Generator
Make a payment QR code from your UPI ID and display name, with an optional fixed amount, that customers scan with any UPI app to pay you directly into your bank account.
QR Code Generator
Enter a value for UPI ID.
No file leaves your device; you only download the generated code.
Width and height of the PNG in pixels. 1000 px prints sharply up to about 8 cm; vector formats ignore this.
Blank border around the code, counted in modules (the small squares). Scanners need at least 4 on a busy background.
Higher levels still scan when part of the code is dirty or covered by a logo, but the pattern becomes denser.
Keep it dark. Light codes on dark backgrounds fail on many older phone cameras.
Needs strong contrast with the code color; white is the safest choice.

- UPI ID
- Also called VPA · virtual payment address
- The address that identifies your bank account on India's Unified Payments Interface, written like name@bank. A UPI QR code carries this ID so the payer's app knows where to send the money, without ever showing your account number.
How a UPI payment code works
UPI is the real-time payment system run by the National Payments Corporation of India. Every participating bank and payment app can send money to any UPI ID, which is why a single printed code at a tea stall works with whichever app the customer happens to use.
The QR code is just a link in a special format. When a phone's UPI app scans it, the app reads the payee's UPI ID and name, fills in the amount if the code includes one, and shows a payment screen. The payer confirms with their PIN, and the money moves from their bank to yours. The code itself holds no money and no secret; it is safe to print and display.
Because the content is fixed, a code made once keeps working as long as your UPI ID stays active. There is nothing to renew, and the code does not depend on this website after you download it.
What the code contains
Example of the payment link inside a UPI QR code
upi://pay?pa=yourname@bank&pn=Your%20Shop&am=150.00&cu=INRThe parameters follow the UPI payment link format that Google documents for developers in its Google Pay for India guide: pa is the payee UPI ID, pn the payee name, am the amount and cu the currency, which is always INR. Leave the amount at 0 here and the am part is left out, so the payer enters the amount.
The name you type is what many apps display on the payment screen, so use the name customers know, such as your shop's name. Most apps also show the name registered with your bank, and payers often check that both look right before they confirm.
How to make a UPI QR code
Enter your UPI details
Type your UPI ID (for example name@bank) and the Name customers should see before they pay.
Set an amount or leave it open
Enter an Amount in rupees for a fixed price, or leave it at 0 so the payer types the amount. Error correction Q is preset for printed stickers.
Generate, test and print
Download the PNG, scan it with your own UPI app to check the name, then print it for your counter, invoice or stall.
UPI QR code questions
Where do I find my UPI ID?
In your UPI app's profile or settings page, usually under a heading such as UPI ID or VPA. It looks like an email address, for example name@okbank or 98xxxxxx10@bankhandle.
Should I put a fixed amount in the code?
Only when the price never changes, such as a parking fee or a set membership charge. For a shop counter, leave the amount at 0 so each customer types what they owe.
Does the code send money to UltConvert or a payment company?
No. The code only contains your UPI ID, your name and the optional amount. The payer's UPI app sends the money from their bank account to yours; no one else is involved.
Why is error correction set to Q on this page?
Payment codes are often printed and stuck on counters, where they get scratched, splashed or partly covered. Level Q lets a phone read the code even with about a quarter of it damaged.
Can I add a note such as an invoice number?
This generator encodes the payee address, name and amount. Ask payers to add the invoice number in their app's note field, or print it next to the code.
What should I check before printing many copies?
Scan the PNG with at least one UPI app and confirm that your name and bank appear correctly on the payment screen. Then make a single test payment of a small amount.
Choosing error correction for a printed code
How much damage each level tolerates
- 7%L: smallest pattern; for screens and clean prints only.
- 15%M: the usual choice for paper that stays clean.
- 25%Q: for counter stickers that get scratched or splashed.Recommended
- 30%H: for outdoor signs or codes with a logo on top.
The percentages are the share of the code that can be damaged while it still scans, as DENSO WAVE explains on its error correction page. Higher levels add redundancy, so the pattern gets denser for the same content. A UPI link is short, so even level Q gives a code that is easy to scan from arm's length.
Protecting the code at your counter
A printed payment code is only useful if it is yours. Fraudsters sometimes paste their own sticker over a shop's code so payments go to them instead. Check your displayed codes now and then, place them where staff can see them, and ask customers to read the payee name on their screen before entering the PIN.
It also helps to remember how UPI works on the other side: entering a UPI PIN always sends money, and receiving money never needs one. If someone asks you to scan a code or enter your PIN to receive a payment, it is not a genuine payment request. A code you made yourself, from your own UPI ID, only ever asks payers to send money to you.
Keep the downloaded PNG in a safe place so you can reprint the same code when a sticker wears out.
Printing and placing the code
The PNG is 1000 pixels wide by default, which prints sharply at 5 to 10 cm, a comfortable size for a counter or a table card. Keep the white border around the code, print in dark ink on a light background, and avoid glossy lamination directly over the code if lights reflect on it. Put your shop name and the words UPI accepted next to it so customers know what to expect.
For invoices or a website, the same code works on screen. For other code types, such as Wi-Fi access for customers or a link to your menu, use the QR Code Generator, and for a whole set of codes from a list, the Bulk QR Code Generator.
